Montclair State University offers Bachelor’s and Master of Arts degrees in Psychological Sciences. Seton Hall University

 

Seton Hall University has undergraduate programs in Psychology and Social Work, as well as an Interdisciplinary Certificate in Gerontology and a Certificate in Social Work Policy and Justice.

All Social Work students graduate with a year and a half of internship experience and connections to organizations such as the Department of Children and Families, state senators, the Department of Human Services, hospitals, schools, non-profits, and community outreach organizations. There are also plenty of opportunities to participate in research projects as early as freshman year, such as those focusing on drug addiction, mental health disorders, and public policy. Seton Hall is a partner in the Baccalaureate Child Welfare Educational Program (BCWEP), which allows our students to intern with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P), receive tuition remission during their senior year, and obtain a full-time job after graduation.

The Psychology program emphasizes research-related skills and the scientific aspects of psychology, so it's ideal for students interested in doctoral programs in psychology or medical school. Students can conduct research with faculty starting in their sophomore year in areas such as sports psychology, anxiety disorders, organizational behavior, behavioral neuroscience, memory, and depression.
