Board, Practice Groups and Councils


NJAMHAA's Board of Directors consists of Presidents, Chief Executive Officers and Executive Directors of member provider agencies from throughout the state. Their diverse areas of expertise, programs and services, and geographic locations ensure comprehensive representation of member providers on all the issues that NJAMHAA advocates on to state and federal legislators, policymakers and elected officials. Members have many opportunities to interact with, learn from and share concerns and recommendations for advocacy with the Board. All staff of member organizations ar encouraged to participate in Membership Meetings, which are held with the Board five times each year, and Practice Groups, each of which has a niche focus -- either a certain population served, type of services provided e.g., substance use treatment, mental health care), or professional position (e.g., Chief Financial Officers, Human Resources). Businesses that offer products and services to providers are welcome to join any of the Councils: Education (tri-state area colleges of social work and behavioral healthcare providers focusing on strengthening the behavioral healthcare workforce), Integrated Healthcare (e.g., Health Maintenance Organizations, staffing companies), Life Sciences & Innovation (e.g., pharmaceuticals and biotechnology) and Technology (e.g., vendors of electronic health record software and telecommunications), .
