A federal judge in Boston on Monday issued a preliminary injunction stating that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had to stop any changes made to the current childhood vaccination schedule as part of an ongoing lawsuit.
According to the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the plaintiffs, which include the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association and American College of Physicians, requested the court issue an injunction after HHS announced significant changes to the childhood immunization schedule at the start of the year.
In a statement to Patch, a NJ Department of Health (NJDOH) spokesperson said that “vaccines keep kids safe and healthy. New Jersey remains committed to following the medical evidence and ensuring access to childhood vaccines."
