218th Legislative Session Bill Room

The New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, Inc. (NJMAHAA) Bill Room is a list of legislation which impacts mental health, substance use, co-occurring and emotional disorders as well as developmental disabilities and the providers which offer these services and the people who access them. The Bill Room is updated weekly.

Currently, New Jersey is in the 217th Legislative Session, and as bills are introduced, NJAMHAA will continue to add them to the Bill Room.

A-2391 - Concerns Early Intervention Support Services Program in DHS and Expansion of program to all counties.

217th Legislative Session (2016-2017)

A-1833 - Mandates health benefits coverage for opioid analgesics with abuse-deterrent properties.

A-4146 - Provides for monitoring and evaluation of transition of mental health and substance use disorder treatment service system to fee-for-service reimbursement model. (Passed into law P.L.2017, c.85)

S-1710 - Provides for licensure of ambulatory care facilities to provide integrated primary care services including behavioral health care. (Passed into law P.L.2017, c.294)

S-2521 - Provides for monitoring and evaluation of transition of mental health and substance use disorder treatment service system to fee-for-service reimbursement model. (Identical to A-4146)
